CERTeM
CERTeM is a microelectronics technological research and development center. It was created in 2007 by the collaboration between Tours university and STMicroelectronics. It is a public/private collaborative research group in the field of microelectronics.
CERTeM has state-of-the-art technological platforms for R&D projects of the research group members and their partners, as well as start-ups developing innovative materials and devices.
Thanks to its technical and human resources, CERTeM offers innovative solutions in the field of energy efficiency. Its scientific activities cover the entire chain of materials - processes - components - packaging.

Governance and history
Three bodies are responsible for the governance of CERTeM :
- Monitoring Committee (Comité de suivi) is in charge of financial management.
- Scientific Council (Conseil Scientifique) is responsible for the scientific strategy.
- Steering Committee (Comité de pilotage) was set up under a framework convention. It meets annually to provide a report to the funders.
Research and study centers - CER
Research and study centers are innovative tools of research and development created by Tours university, in collaboration with local companies.
They aim to create synergies between public and private sectors to foster innovation and to create attractive centers of excellence.
